‘The Last Jedi’ Cast Is Laughing Its Ass Off At That MRA “Edit” Of The Film

If you ever needed any more confirmation as to how incredibly pissy the “fans” behind the 46-minute MRA edit of The Last Jedi are, the cast of the film itself is now laughing its ever-loving ass off at them.

Earlier this week we brought you the yarn of how the cut-down edit of the Star Wars film had appeared on The Pirate Bay, slapped together from a godawful camrip with hardcoded subs because whining idiots simply couldn’t wait for a home release of the flick to butcher it mercilessly.

The edit clocks in at a lightning fast 46 minutes, mostly because whoever put it together removed just about anything and everything to do with female characters. That’s not a joke, either. Some of the edit notes featured in the torrent’s description boasted that they had “cut out most shots showing female fighters/pilots and female officers commanding people around/having ideas,” and “Leia never scolds, questions nor demotes Poe,” or that “when there’s a scene where a woman is cut in making some important statement that can be substituted by another statement by a guy, then she gets cut out.”

Normal things, from a normal, non-poisoned male brain.

The yarn is so insane, in fact, that it reached the cast and crew of the film; namely, Rian JohnsonMark Hamill, and John Boyega. All of whom made their thoughts on the matter bluntly clear.

The headline from our original yarn was initially posted by Births Movies Death writer Priscilla Page, accompanied by some choice commentary on the issue.

This wound up catching the attention of direcotr Rian Johnson, who added his rebuttal argument thusly:

This prompted Mark Hamill to weigh in on the conversation, giving a particularly nuanced take:

And finally John Boyega joined in, echoing the sentiments of his colleagues thusly:

All extremely good and valid points, made very well.

Seriously, if your big gripe with The Last Jedi is “I didn’t like it when the women said things or did anything,” then maybe movies just aren’t for you.
