In what will surely be a ratings boost for the show, Dancing with the Stars have announced that model Lara Bingle will appear as a contender for its upcoming 11th season. Bingle, familiar with dancefloor scrutiny following her involvement with Nine’s Dancing On Ice, will enjoy slightly easier conditions as she abandons the ice skates for a pair of ballroom shoes.
Making it to round six of eight during her previous foray into televised dancing comps, Bingle will hope to live up to her 2006 stint when “Dancing With The Stars” airs in June. And it won’t come cheap. It has been revealed that Bingle will pocket a cool $50 000 – and if she makes it to the final round she could see earnings in the vicinity of $200,000. The second confirmed cast member is Brynne Edelsten a ‘celebrity’ known for her red carpet ensembles and her marriage to disgraced medical entrepreneur of the eighties, Geoffrey Edelsten. Obviously the designation “star” is open to interpretation.
