As we speak, a decidedly un-chill weather event called Storm Desmond is causing pandemonium around The U.K. and Ireland– residents in Cumbria have been urged to evacuate their homes, as parts of the region face flooding and dangerous gusts of wind.
The storm began to trend on Twitter, at around the time Kim Kardashian and Kanye West announced that they had brought a new bundle of joy / baby brother for North West into the world.
Because non-Kardashian-related trending topics are such a rarity, the internet went ahead and assumed that ‘Storm Desmond’ was the name bestowed upon the blessed infant.

TBH, Storm Desmond is a strong name, and one the Kardashian-Wests should maybe actually consider running with.
Kim announced the as-yet-unnamed infant’s birth earlier today, by posting a picture of her hand intertwined with Kanye’s, captioning it: “He’s here.”
Meanwhile, in actual Storm Desmond news, some Irish teens with balls of steel and precisely zero fucks to give were filmed diving into stormy seas near Galway.
