Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West are heading for divorce after six years of marriage, according to a report in Page Six – and people sure do have a lot of feelings.
First, the facts: while neither party has confirmed they’re separated, rumours that Kim and Kanye been on the rocks have been floating for several months. Most recently, he was notably absent from Kim’s Christmas posts.
Page Six spoke to two sources who confirmed the imminent divorce, with Kim reportedly hiring famed Hollywood divorce lawyer Laura Wasser. (She’s supposedly the inspiration for Laura Dern‘s character in Marriage Story.)
Kim has “had enough” of Kanye’s antics, says one source, while Kanye is “completely over the entire family”, says the other.
Kanye has been living at his Wyoming ranch apart from the family for some time; Page Six reports that Kim actually asked him to live there while they sorted out their separation.
People are always inclined to be – ugh, there’s no other way of putting it – mean and spiteful when it comes to this couple, for reasons that are mind-numblingly obvious.
However, some fans are still pretty devastated; Kanye might have been largely absent from recent Keeping Up With The Kardashians seasons, but the idea of their marriage has been a constant narrative, whether on the show or in the parts of their life Kim shares.

Of course, not everyone is devastated (and yes, we see you people in our comments typing “WHO??” or “WHO CARES??”). They’re the most controversial couple in the world. It’s natural that many people’s first reaction isn’t going to be devastation. (Breathing a sigh of relief for Kim to be free is also right there.)

That being said, Kim hasn’t actually filed for divorce yet. A source told E! News that while they’re definitely going their separate ways, nothing is official at this stage.
“They’ve seen each other for the sake of the kids but have been living separately,” the source said.
“Kim knows the marriage is over. She’s known for a while.”
The source added that Kim has held off on filing for divorce to make sure they’re doing the right thing by their kids: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 20 months.
“It’s not about the marriage anymore, she’ll always care for Kanye but it’s over between them,” the source said.
“Kim is only focused on what’s best for the kids. It’s a tough decision for her and she’s figuring it out.”
