John Oliver’s excellent program Last Week Tonight is off the air for the holidays, but he couldn’t resist recording a few web specials just to get us through to January. You might remember Oliver, easily on the way to becoming one of the most popular Britons on American television, begging Scotland not to secede from the UK. Well today he’s done one better and taken on New Year’s Eve.
There’s three minutes of zingers in here and we won’t ruin it for you, but safe to say he’s off to a good start when he says NYE is ‘like a the death of a pet. You know it’s coming, but you’re never quite prepared for how truly awful it is.’
