Joe Exotic reckons David Spade of Brad Pitt should play him in a biopic.
Tiger King co-directors Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin were recently asked by Hollywood Reporter if Joe had expressed a desire as to should play him in a film or TV show.
“Yes,” Chaiklin responded. “He would like Brad Pitt or David Spade to play him.”
Well, then. Two very eclectic offerings indeed.
Let’s see if David or Brad could bring Joe justice.
First up, David.
Two word: Joe Dirt. This project has a gay Joe Dirt written all over it. Aside from that, they’re both kinda goofy, kinda quirky and have very similar facial structures if you study the both of ’em hard enough. This could actually work, in my humblest of opinions.
And then there’s Brad.
Brad Pitt as Joe Exotic? HAHAHHAHAHHAHA.
I’m not laughing because I doubt Brad’s ability to pull it off – all you need to do is take one look at him in Inglorious Bastards to know that Joe’s Southern eccentricity could most definitely be in in his skillset. It’s just that Brad Pitt is the most ball-park, generic answer you could give. Like, if you asked a group of Aussies who they’d want to play them in a film, 50% would be like, ‘umm, I don’t know… Brad Pitt or something?’ Part of me also believes that Joe sees himself en par with Brad, and you know know? I love that for him.
If I were to have anyone play me in my own biopic, it would either be Ezra Miller, TikTok Kombucha girl, or Katy Perry’s left shark at the Super Bowl. Thanks for asking.
