#DoctorWho is back in production”.

Brilliant!

The BBC previously confirmed the show’s twelfth season with showrunner Chris Chibnall hinting it’ll have “more scares, more monsters, and more Bradley Walsh , Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole”.

Whittaker also confirmed her return to the iconic role, revealing in an interview that she was “not quite ready to hand it [the role] over yet.”

Despite some initial backlash, Whittaker’s debut as the Time Lord racked up 10.9 million viewers across all devices – including PCs, phones, and tablets – in the United Kingdom. The premiere episode, The Woman Who Fell To Earth, is now the franchise’s highest season debut ever.

“On behalf of the entire Doctor Who team, a huge thank you to viewers for taking Jodie’s Doctor and her new friends into their hearts, in such huge numbers,” Chibnall said at the time.

“It’s a thrill being deluged with pictures of families snuggled up together, kids (and adults) hiding behind sofas and seeing all the extraordinary creative artwork inspired by the show. The journey of the 13th Doctor is only just beginning. Next stop: Alabama 1955.”

Doctor Who season 12 will return in 2020.

ALSO, former Doctor David Tennant is launching his own podcast soon. David Tennant Does a Podcast With… will feature none other than Whittaker herself which is pretty damn cool.
