You’re used to LOLing at the antics of Joanna Lumley via her boozy but chic Absolutely Fabulous (Ab Fab) character but the British icon didn’t have the audience laughing as she hosted the 2019 BAFTAs.
The 72-year-old actress has come under fire for making a Ku Klux Klan joke while discussing Spike Lee‘s film BlacKkKlansman.
“It’s an incredible film,” she said. “It’s already won many awards. If I’m honest I’m surprised it did so well at the Klannes film festival.”
Catch her cringey spiel via The Mirror.
The audience appeared to go dead silent following her remark and Twitter has since erupted with furious tweets.
