Jimmy Kimmel Royally Pissed Off YouTube Gaming Fans With His Latest Bit


Watching other people play video games on the internet: it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s a legit, entertaining pastime, and popular enough that there are multiple channels devoted to watching gamers in action. 
Hell, this year, the series of charity video game marathons that is Games Done Quick successfully raised more than $1.2 million for Doctors Without Borders, their highest amount yet. 
PewDiePie, who earned $7.5 million from streaming and commentating on games last year, recently set a world record for most subscribers on YouTube – with 39 million and counting, he has more than One Direction and Taylor Swift combined.
Suffice to say, however, Jimmy Kimmel finds the whole phenomenon baffling, and last week, he ran the following segment, making fun of YouTube‘s new video game streaming service:
While the most appropriate response to this innocuous bit would be to shake your head and move on, Jimmy hit a nerve, and in the days that followed, he was positively deluged with angry responses.
