Jimmy Fallon Farewells ‘Late Night’ In Style With Help From The Muppets

Jimmy Fallon has signed off on Late Night with a little help from the Muppets and fellow Saturday Night Live alumni Andy Samberg.

It was a fitting send off for someone like Fallon, whose tenure at the helm of Late Night would probably be remembered for a lack of cynicism and those awesome lip sync battles with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Stephen Merchant. Be it #hashtaging with Justin Timberlake or laughing with his ridiculously awesome smile, something about Fallon was so exuberant you couldn’t help but laugh with him, even when you felt like you should laugh at him.

Fallon will move onto bigger and better things by taking over the responsibilities of Jay Leno, who is stepping down from The Tonight Show. The series debut of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon is scheduled for the 17th of Feb and will be the seventh incarnation of the show.

“I’m really going to miss being on TV at 12:37 … I’ll especially miss the battle for late-night ratings with my fierce rivals Craig Ferguson and a veggie chopper infomercial.”

Fallon finished the show with a musical number accompanied by the Muppets, before walking into his new ‘office’ and being greeted by the cheering crew of The Tonight Show.

Not a bad way to go out.
