As much as I have aggressively denied it, The Good Place is really coming to an end. The stars of the show have started to say goodbye to their roles, including the one and only Jameela Jamil.

Series creator Michael Schur recently announced that The Good Place would end after its upcoming fourth season. In a statement, the showrunner said four seasons is “the right lifespan” for the adored series.

Part of his statement read:

“At times over the past few years we’ve been tempted to go beyond four seasons, but mostly because making this show is a rare, creatively fulfilling joy, and at the end of the day, we don’t want to tread water just because the water is so warm and pleasant.”

Jamil recently wrapped on set, bringing to an end her time as Tahani.

On Instagram, the activist wrote that she “BAWLED MY FUCKING EYES OUT as they called out ‘that’s a series wrap on Tahani…

“And Mike walked towards me in what felt like slow motion, and my heart felt like it was going to burst because I love him so much, and I love this show, and I can’t believe how much it changed my life, and helped my activism and allowed me to do and see things I could never have imagined.

“Gah. What a mess I will be for a while. Big ups to my boyfriend for staying at work with me til 2am to be there for that moment.”

She also thanked Schur for being the “forking best” in a separate post on Twitter.

Manny Jacinto, who starred as Jason, posted a sweet as hell tribute to the crew.

“Four years goes by quick,” he said.

Excellent human being Marc Evan Jackson, AKA Shawn, also penned an emotional goodbye to the show.

“Earlier today, I shot my last ever scene for NBC’s The Good Place,” he wrote. “I haven’t the words for what this show means to me. “Thank you, everyone. Thank you, Michael Schur. Thank you for The Good Place.”

I know this is depressing as hell, but here’s something to cheer us all up.

LORD have mercy.
