Deadpool Crashed Hugh Jackman’s Instagram And We Have Some Questions

Cards on the table, guys: based on the headline of this piece, you’re probably already aware that Ryan Reynolds, in typical Ryan Reynolds style, “pranked” his mate Hugh Jackman by crashing his hotel room in character as Deadpool, but there’s clearly more going on than that.

The video, seen below, features Jackman attempting to record a birthday message for someone when the camera pans away to reveal Deadpool lying on his hotel bed and interrupting by singing ‘Tomorrow‘ from Annie, and the Baha Men‘s ‘Who Let The Dogs Out?

Now, we know this wasn’t spontaneous – these two adult men are major movie stars and good friends, and Ryan Reynolds did not just sneak into Hugh Jackman’s hotel room fully kitted out as Deadpool, no matter how much we might weirdly fantasise about that happening.

The real question is – what does this mean? Is it just a goof to tease the release of Deadpool 2? Or could it be a sign that Jackman maybe has a cameo in the upcoming action-comedy?

The Aussie actor made an appearance of sorts in the first film, after Reynolds’ Wade Wilson attempted to hide his scarred face by covering it with a picture of Jackman ripped from a People magazine.

At a press conference for last year’s Logan, Jackman ruled out making any further appearances as Wolverine, saying specifically that the character would not show up in Deadpool 2.

He told reporters:

“Look, if that movie happened ten years ago, it would be a totally different story, but I knew two and a half years ago that this was the last one. The first call I made was to Jim [Mangold]. I said ‘Jim, I got one more shot at this’. As soon as I gt with Jim and started working on the idea of it, I was never ore excited. But it feels like the right time … Deadpool, go for it man. You do your thing. You don’t need me.”

While he’s ruled out doing any more movies as Logan, that doesn’t mean he won’t be appearing in the film in some totally different capacity, or even as himself. We’ll presumably have to wait until the May 16 release date to find out.
