George Calombaris Restaurant Investigated Over Food Poisoning Incident

It seems gastroenteritis was the hero of the dish for a handful of unlucky patrons of Hellenic Republic in Kew on Mother’s Day.
The restaurant, co-owned by your boy George Calombaris from MasterChef, is under investigation after at least two groups of diners fell sick with vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach cramps on Sunday evening.
An unnamed victim who spoke to GoodFood said “It’s completely put us through the wringer. My wife was vomiting all day yesterday and most of Sunday night. This stuff shouldn’t happen at a restaurant like this.”

Calombaris is a part-owner of Made Entertainment, which controls
Hellenic Republic in Kew and Brunswick as well as The Press Club and Gazi in the city.
The community development director of Boroondara Council, Carolyn McClean, confirmed that an inspection of the premises had been conducted, presumably to check that everything was… McClean.
