Peter Dinklage Seems Absolutely Ready For ‘Game Of Thrones’ To Wrap TF Up

Imagine starring in one of the greatest television shows of all time, embodying a massively beloved character, and earning a slew of awards for your performance. Then, imagine being fine with ending the bloody thing.

If that’s a thought experiment too far, just observe the reaction of Peter Dinklage when he’s asked about Game Of Thrones‘ final season.

In conversation with Variety at Sundance Film Festival, Dinklage said “it’s time” to end his eight-year stint as Tyrion Lannister, and that going any longer than 2019 would diminish the power of the story.

“The final season,” he said, slowly nodding. “So, it’s a  pretty long, lone one. We like taking our time with this one.”

The two-time Emmy Award-winner briefly spoke on the excellent folk he’s worked with for the better part of a decade, before swiveling to his main point.

“But, uh, yeah. It’s time,” he said. “Story-wise. Not just for all our lives. But I think if they went any further, it would start to… it’s the perfect time to end it.”

While the show will come to an end after the next six episodes, spin-offs are definitely in the works. It may be better if you don’t hold out for Tyrion’s return in those ones, though.
