Meet The Cast Of The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Prequel Before The Show Murders Them

Eight years after Game Of Thrones premiered, it’s pretty fair to say the show catapulted the careers of its up-and-coming stars. Sophie Turner is a core superhero in the X-Men film saga, Kit Harington is the cause of at least 3% of the world’s thirst, and Richard Madden won a Golden Globe about twenty minutes ago.

Now, as the original series winds down, HBO has revealed the central cast of its prequel series. Simply put, these are the folks you’re likely going to see around for the next decade as they stab / poison / deceive / immolate each other.

Naomi Ackie (who has nabbed a role in the next Star Wars flick), Denise Gough (Collette), Jamie Campbell Bower (The Mortal Instruments and Twilight), Ivanno Jeremiah (Black Mirror), Sheila Atim (Harlots), Georgie Henley (The Chronicles of Narnia), Tony Award-winner Alex Sharp, and Toby Regbo (The Crimes Of Grindelwald) are all set to feature in the upcoming show.

Some of those guns took to social media to express their excitement at the news. You would too, if you’d just signed on to a project that humungous:

They will join Naomi Watts and Josh Whitehouse on the show, which is tipped to outline the history of Westeros well before Season 8’s climactic battle between the living and the dead.

HBO also revealed that upcoming Star Trek 4 director SJ Clarkson is slated to direct the pilot.

There’s precious little other info about the series, other than the fact it’s being written by Jane Goldman and A Song Of Ice And Fire mastermind George R. R. Martin himself.

Expect more details – and more charming, celebratory social media posts – in the months and years to come.
