Being loosely inspired by the treasured, iconic 1941 animated film, the live-action Dumbo again follows the trials and tribulations of a baby elephant whose ears are too got dang big for his head.

The cast for this new effort is stacked to the gills, sporting the likes of Colin FarrellMichael KeatonDanny DeVitoEva Green, and Alan Arkin.

The trailer, which Disney dropped a few hours ago, hits all the right notes for those of you clinging on to any childhood love of the original. There’s Pink Elephants in there and a haunting rendition of Baby Mine by Norwegian crooner Aurora that’ll tug squarely at the heartstrings.

But the main point of heartbreak remains the absolutely shattering separation scene where Dumbo’s mother is sold off; a scene which the trailer hints at, and looks to be just as devastating as the original.

Brace yrselves, mates. This one’s gonna be emotional.

It remains to be seen how many of the original film’s iconic songs will make it into the new version (and, for that matter, whether the reasonably racist crows get a dusting off). But regardless, this looks to be another hit in a long string of upcoming live action adaptations for the House of Mouse next year.

Dumbo is scheduled to hit cinemas on March 29th, 2019.
