Dua Lipa Says She’s ‘Horrified’ By Rapper DaBaby’s Disgusting Homophobic Rant At A Recent Show

Dua Lipa has slammed rapper DaBaby for making gross homophobic comments during his performance at Rolling Loud on Sunday night.

The singer, who collaborated with DaBaby on the hit remix of ‘Levitating’, took to her Instagram to condemn the rapper, saying she’s “horrified” by his comments.

According to a video posted by TMZ, DaBaby encouraged the audience to hold up their phones, but only if they “didn’t show up today with HIV/AIDS or any of them deadly sexually transmitted diseases that will make you die in two to three weeks,” among other derogatory remarks about HIV/AIDS and LGBTQ+ people.

In the Instagram Story shared by Dua Lipa, she wrote: “I’m surprised and horrified at DaBaby’s comments. I really don’t recognise this as the person I worked with. I know my fans know where my heart lies and that I stand 100% with the LGBTQ community. We need to come together to fight the stigma and ignorance around HIV/AIDS.”

Following the backlash, DaBaby tried to defend the comments he made at the show via Instagram Live, but he dug himself an even deeper hole by making further offensive statements.

He denied that the rant was homophobic, but rather a “call to action.” He also said that his gay fans “don’t got fucking AIDS” because they aren’t “nasty” or “junkies.”

Wow. Just… wow.

Dua Lipa released her remix of ‘Levitating’, featuring DaBaby, October 1, 2020 and went absolutely bonkers on the charts, peaking at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

He has also featured on songs by Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Chance the Rapper, Camilla Cabello, Kanye West and DJ Khaled.
