In addition to being a country music icon and a living legend, we’ve learned today that Dolly Parton is also a teller of dick jokes so crude and unexpected that they make Jimmy Fallon collapse behind his desk with laughter. Truly, what a time to be alive.
Parton appeared on a recent episode of The Tonight Show to talk about Dumplin’, the upcoming musical comedy for which she recorded the soundtrack. The film features Jennifer Aniston, and according to the singer, that’s the part her husband is most excited for.
We’ll let her tell the story, and suffice to say, while it’s pretty easy to crack Jimmy Fallon up – witness his constant breaking in old Saturday Night Live sketches – his reaction here is a bit of a step up from his usual, so we’ll assume he’s genuinely losing it.
Dumplin’, which stars Danielle McDonald alongside Jennifer Aniston, is about a plus-sized, Dolly Parton-loving teenager who decides to follow in her mother’s footsteps and enter into a beauty pageant to try and conquer her insecurities.
Parton recorded the soundtrack, which was released on November 30 and features appearances from Sia, Miranda Lambert, Alison Krauss, Elle King, Macy Gray and various others. The film comes out on Netflix on December 7.
