Daniel Radcliffe

Ya magic boy Daniel Radcliffe has joined the cast of Netflix‘s upcoming Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt movie, an interactive project a la Bandersnatch. By this, we mean it’s a choose-your-own adventure stitcheroo where viewers decide what the characters do and how their stories progress.

Per the AV Clubthe film will be about Kimmy Schmidt‘s (Ellie Kemper) “biggest adventure yet” which includes things like “three states” and “explosions” and “a dancing hamburger.” And, apparently Kimmy will be getting married, which is a bloody wild thing to put in a press release. The presser also revealed Jon Hamm will reprise his role as Kimmy’s kidnapper Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne. The interactive special will also reunite us with Tituss Burgess, Jane Krakowski, and Carol Kane. Unfortunately, there’s absolutely no news about Radcliffe’s role as of yet.

The movie is being written by the show’s co-creators Tina Fey and Robert Carlock.

Kimmy Schmidt appeared to reach breaking point back in 2018, when it was announced the series would come to an end on Netflix after four seasons. In their statement at the time, Fey said the interactive special “will be a great way to officially complete the series.”

There’s yet to be an official release date for the interactive movie but we’ll keep you posted.

You can catch seasons one to four of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix now. Interestingly, the title page for the interactive flick is already up on Netflix so we might not have to wait too long for the movie. Strike that, it’s coming out in 2020 but hey, if you want to look at its title page – by all means, go ahead.

There is only one suitable way to end this yarn.
