Corey Haim Is Dead

Corey Haim, one of the original teen idols from the Eighties, is dead after an apparent drug overdose.

Haim starred in the vampire “classic” The Lost Boys and the great teen coming-of-age flick Lucas (also starring Winona Ryder and worth seeking out for feelgood times). He also became known as one of “The Two Coreys” after several on-screen collaborations with another casualty of Eighties Hollywood fuck-up-ery, Corey Feldman.

After experiencing success as a child actor and pinup boy, Haim eventually gained more publicity for his off-screen behaviour – which included a series of rehab stints for drug addiction and, ultimately, faded from the spotlight. Irish band The Thrills even wrote a song about him: “Whatever Happened To Corey Haim?”

He kind of became the ultimate underdog – like his character in “Lucas” – that you couldn’t help pulling for. So, to celebrate his life (and to celebrate amazing movie trailers from the 80s) here’s a few of our favourite ‘Corey’ moments.

RIP.
