Event Cinemas are gearing up for a hectic June as it’s officially freezing temp and the cinemas are one of the few places you can hang out at without losing a finger to frostbite.

With some wicked events coinciding with a slew of major studio releases (Oh hai, Incredibles 2), this month has got a lil’ somethin’ somethin’ for all the film buffs and casual moviegoers out there.

Check out some of the highlights below:

‘Ocean’s 8’
In cinemas now

The highly anticipated heist movie Ocean’s 8 has finally dropped and they could not have crammed more A-list actors into the cast if they tried. I love it.

Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham CarterMindy Kaling, Awkwafina and even God‘s gift to the world Rihanna are joining forces to rob the Met Gala. Well, their characters are at least.

Believe the hype, this movie’s a ripper.

‘Upgrade’
June 14th

Logan Marshall-Green stars as technophobe in the not-too-distant future who, through a series of events, must rely on technology to get revenge on whoever did him dirty. Colour me intrigued.

Adults Only Screenings of ‘Incredibles 2’
June 14th

Holy crap, it’s happening. It’s finally happening. Grab your capes, mates, dates – just grab what you can and get a front-row seat to the movie that people have been (im)patiently expecting for over a decade.

Hitting theatres on June 14th, Incredibles 2 kicks off where the original left off (almost to the second), so it might be wise to brush up on the first one if, unlike myself, you haven’t watched it multiple times a week for the past 14 years.

To celebrate, Event Cinemas are throwing Adults Only screenings starting on the 14th. No capes, no kids.

Sorry not sorry, children.

‘Jurassic Park’ 25th Anniversary Screenings
June 13th

There’s something equally nostalgic and depressing about knowing that the original Jurassic Park came out 25 years ago.

Regardless, there’ll be special screenings of the OG dinosaur blockbuster from June 13th, leading up to the release of the most current, Chris Pratt-ified flick, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, roaring into cinemas (oh my god sorry, the opportunity was there) on June 21st.

‘Sicario: Day Of Soldado’
June 28th

While Emily Blunt may be missing from this sequel (potentially too busy shooting blind monsters), Josh Brolin takes the reins as federal agent Matt Graver to jump head first into the war with the cartels, who have upped the ante by trafficking terrorists into America as well as their usual drug biz. Can’t say they’re not good at multitasking, I guess?

As always, Event Cinemas are gifting stressed students with $8 movies every Monday, or $10 ticket Tuesday to Thursday. Bless ’em.

For times and movie sessions, head to Event Cinemas to start planning your movie-madness month.
