Gina Rodriguez is set to portray Carmen Sandiego in a live-action flick for Netflix, singlehandedly reigniting some nostalgic flames we worried had long burnt out.
Fresh from gunning shit down in Annihilation, the Jane The Virgin star will also provide the voice of an animated Carmen Sandiego series rolling out next year.
The announcement serves to revive the video game franchise, which saw young players travel across the world in search of the eponymous thief while *gasp!* learning some things along the way.
Rodriguez is also set to co-produce the flick through her own I Can and I Will Productions.
While we wait for Rodriguez to don the red trenchcoat, take a minute to reacquaint yourself with the delightfully simple gameplay and slapped-on animations of the original series. Bliss.
