Bond Producers Try To Sign Daniel Craig On For Five More Films

Daniel Craig, the current star of the James Bond film series is apparently so good that the creators want to lock him into another five Bond flicks.

Producer Michael G. Wilson spilled the beans in a recent interview, saying that he wants Craig to break the record previously held by Roger Moore with seven:

Filming has gone very well so far and I’d love Daniel to surpass Roger’s record and do eight pictures. Daniel’s been an absolute pleasure to be around because he takes the role so seriously. There’s really no one more passionate about making these films work than him – he’s a film maker’s dream.

Skyfall, the latest Bond flick, should be out in 2012, directed by Sam Mendes of American Beauty fame. Bear in mind each Bond film takes on average three to four years to shoot, release and market before starting all over again. If he signs on (and he has gone on record to say he will continue making Bond films as long as his body is physically up to the task), Craig is essentially locking himself into a two-decade contract. By the last one, he will also be at least 60 years old. Good thing he has new wife Rachel Weisz to keep him young and frisky.
