Amy Adams Wins Big As The Internet’s New Favourite Oscars Loser

Amy Adams Oscars

Bloody hell Amy Adams is a great actress, right? Seriously I love her in everything, even those dumb Superman movies in which she almost gets overshadowed by Henry Cavill‘s biceps but manages to hold her own.

But after 6 nominations, Amy Adams has never won an Oscar. And this year wasn’t her year either — she just got beaten by Regina King who scored for her role in If Beale Street Could Talk. Well-deserved and this post is no means a slight on Reg, she’s the KING after all. But Folks are now hailing poor Amy as Leonardo DiCaprio‘s replacement as the Academy Awards perpetual loser.

You might remember that he scored five nominations without winning, but Amy is up to SIX so she’s taken that bloody crown. (Glenn Close currently holds the record with seven, but that may change this year).

So far, Amy’s clocked up Best Supporting Actress nominations for Junebug (2005), Doubt (2008), The Fighter (2010), The Master (2012) and Vice (2019) and a Best Actress nod for American Hustle (2013). And every year, she’s gone home sans trophy.

Twitter, while happy for Regina, has some feelings:

I could not agree more with this one, I loved her in this movie:

Some fans think she might not be happy (but personally I think she’s very gracious):

I think the whole thing is summed up best here though:

Let’s all join hands and send victorious vibes for 2020. Your year, Ames.
