Anyone who has ever watched repeats of The Brady Bunch as a kid will be especially sad to hear that Ann B. Davis, of ‘ohhhhhh Alice’ fame, has died at age 88.
Davis who was a graduate of the University of Michigan was originally set for pre-med major until she watched her big brother’s performance of Oklahoma!, after which she studied drama and speech.
Undoubtedly she was best know to Australian audiences young and old for her performance as Alice Nelson in The Brady Bunch series from 1969-1974. Davis also published a cookbook ‘Alice’s Brady Bunch Cookbook ‘ and later in life turned to theatre and volunteering for her community.
Her sage advice and commitment to slapstick will forever be appreciated.
