You can add scam artist to the ever-growing rap sheet of infamous musician 6ix9ine as he reportedly screwed Fashion Nova on a deal they had going.
TMZ reports that the online fashion brand inked a six-figure deal with the 22-year-old that required him to mention their brand on his new new track ‘MAMA’ featuring Nicki Minaj and Kanye West, only he did not comply.
I can see it now: the good folk at Fashion Nova gathered ’round a boardroom, hands rubbing together, grins plastered on their faces as they hit play on the mp4, anticipating the lyrics “Splish splash Fashion Nova make that ass phat” only to instead hear “Splish splash apple bottoms make that ass phat.”
Insiders at the rapper’s label told the gossip mongers that Fashion Nova paid him up-front for the mention and to wear threads from the brand in his accompanying music video which was ultimately canned due to a shooting on-set.
So aside from the fact that he’s a shifty character, why would he take out the lyric that he has already been handsomely paid for?
Apparently it’s got to do with Nicki Minaj’s verse on the song and her feud with Cardi B who released her new line with Fashion Nova earlier this month.
So it’s possible that Minaj asked her collaborator to ditch the reference.
Unfortunately for Fashion Nova though, there ain’t much they can do about it as 6ix9ine awaits trial, set to kick off in September 2019.
He currently faces a range of racketeering and firearms-related charges, each of which carry maximum sentences between three years and life, and more charges are expected to follow in the coming months.
So maybe they, much like 6ix9ine, dodged a bullet here?
