Feast Yr Eyes On The Final Woodford Folk Fest Line-up Feat. Amanda Palmer, The Herd & More

Hold on to your hats, festival-goers, because Woodford Folk Fest have announced their full line-up and I for one, reckon it’s a doozy.

Headliners include the likes of Kasey Chambers – who will be playing the festival for the first time, Amanda Palmer, Emma Louise, Lior, Horrorshow, The Herd, Kate Miller-Heidke, Electric Fields, Harry James Angus (of The Cat Empire), Ngaiire and Lime Cordiale.

we’re this stoked.

“As always, this is a programme created by, with and for many people,” says Head of Programming Chloe Goodyear. “We’re overjoyed to share the culmination of nearly a year’s work. It consists of 1,600+ shows across 25 stages.”

I mean, absolutely stop the presses because Amanda Palmer is coming back to Aus on her There Will Be No Intermission tour and I haven’t missed a show yet.

Even cooler to me that she’s coming to take part in the festivals odder side-program of Circus & Cabaret performers to share Weep Fest, where she’s apparently going to get all the punters to join in a good old cry – from sad to those of joy and gratitude – which is the most truly Amanda Palmer-ish thing I’ve heard for a while.

Woodford Folk Festival aims to create a platform where artists, speakers, comedians and scholars can profess their views in the ancient troubadour traditions. It’s about the here and the now, where we come from and visualising a clearer path to our future” says Festival Director Bill Hauritz.

You can nab tickets to the six-day festival – running from December 27th to the 1st of January – right this very minute over here.
