The team over at Domino’s are gearing up to become Australia’s first fast food pizza chain to serve up plant-based pizzas. That’s a meat alternative at no extra cost.

Come September, Domino’s will launch three new pizzas – the plant-based Beef & Onion, the plant-based Beef Loaded Burger, and the plant-based Beef Taco Fiesta. According to Domino’s Global Development Chef Michael Treacy, the plant-based ‘beef’ is made from soy protein and free from artificial preservatives, flavours, and colours. It’s also lower in saturated fat and higher in protein than its meat counterpart.

Win-bloody-win.

The new pizzas, which took nine months to perfect, were developed in Brissy and can’t be found anywhere else on the planet, Treacy said in a presser.

“We tried and tested hundreds of flavours and variations from around the world before settling on a plant-based ‘beef’ which has a similar taste and texture to our existing beef.”

You’ll be able to tuck into the new pizzas across all Domino’s stores come September.

In the meantime, you can check out Domino’s vegan range – the Vegan Avocado Veg, Vegan Spicy Veg Trio, and the Vegan Margherita –  as well as vegan mozzarella on its website right HERE
