London‘s Metropolitan Police have responded to multiple incidents across the city, and appear to be treating the three as related, urging residents to “run, hide and tell” in a warning issued via social media.

Earlier today, there were reports that a van had run into a group of pedestrians on London Bridge, with eyewitness accounts saying that a man had been arrested and at least five people were injured.
Since then, Metropolitan Police have responded to incidents in the nearby bar and restaurant area of Borough Market, where there have been reports of stabbings, and also in the area of Vauxhall
UPDATE: Police now say that the incident in Vauxhall was a stabbing unrelated to the other two.
Current reports indicate that there has been at least one fatality related to the attacks. UK Prime Minister Theresa May has made a statement to the media, saying:
“Following updates from police and security officials, I can confirm that the terrible incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism. This is a fast moving investigation. I want to express my huge gratitude to the police and emergency services who are on the scene. Our thoughts are with those who are caught up in these dreadful events.”
Foreign Minister Julie Bishop says she has been in contact with UK High Commissioner Alexander Downer in the wake of the attacks, and early reports indicate that there are no Australians involved.
