Get The Lowdown On Remixing With Ta-Ku

Wanna be the very best? Like no one ever was? To mix them is your real test, to release them is your cause?

See what we did there? Remixing the Pokemon theme tune… Kind of… Sort of… Not really… THE POINT IS we don’t know a lot about remixing but our mate Ta-ku sure does. With five years experience under his belt, Perth lad Reggie Mathews (aka Ta-Ku) is a self-taught DIY bedroom producer who’s human evidence for the platitude: ‘it’s not what you use, it’s how you use it’.

Remixing the likes of Ginger & the Ghost, Justin Timberlake and Flume (this track, by the way, has had more than 700,000 hits on SoundCloud) Ta-Ku really does know his stuff, and in his first Coach session Remix Production 101, Ta-Ku will take you through what it takes to create a track worthy of inclusion in Baauer’s live radio mixes and how to make the distinctive styles of production software work to your advantage.

Not just a pro at producing, Ta-Ku also runs Sunday Records (a label he started in that brief two hour period last year when he had nothing to do) and if you sign up for his second class, Ta-Ku will give you the lowdown on how to successfully run a label while still juggling real life.

Currently working on a ‘proper’ LP due out later this year (he previously released 50 Days for Dilla which saw him create a new beat a day for 50 days straight in tribute to the late messiah of hip-hop production J. Dilla), sign up for this unique opportunity to pick the brain of one of Australia’s best producers.
