Portman’s ‘Black Swan’ Double Gets Nasty

Natalie Portman‘s ballerina double for the Oscar-slaying Black Swan has spoken out, saying she deserves more credit for many of the more gruelling routines.

Sarah Lane is an American Ballet Theatre soloist who maintains Portman only did ‘about five per cent’ of the full body dance shots in the film, while she did the rest. Portman’s face was apparently digitally grafted (ew!) onto Lane’s body for the more intense scenes, which makes it appear like she is doing far more of the rigorous routines.

Lane’s outburst comes in response to Black Swan choreographer (and Portman beau) Benjam Millipied telling the L.A. Times that her involvement in the film was far less than she made it out to be, saying “Honestly, 85 percent of that movie is Natalie.” Unlike this one, in which it is most definitely zero.

It might be easier for all parties involved in the dispute if they used the same narrative closure as Aronofsky did in the movie:

There is no double.
It was all a dream.
You were a temporary lesbian.
You are losing your mind.
Just dance.

Problem solved.
