Oh Non, Non, Non: This Gal’s Sign Just Knocked Out Half Of The Cyclists At Tour de France

A bystander at this year’s Tour de France has accidentally taken out half of the cyclists and oh non, non, non, this is not good, mon amies.

In a clip that’s now absolutely going viral, a woman is seen holding a large rectangle-shaped sign and gesturing it towards the camera, sheer milliseconds before colliding with the onslaught of cyclists that are literally directly behind her.

Seconds later, veteran cyclist Tony Martin, who was in the lead of the pack, drifts out of the way and falls off his bike, which then leads to the rest of the group fumbling to the ground like dominos. The crash came just eight kilometres away from the finish line.

As Pitbull famously once sang: “It’s going down, I’m yelling timber.”

There’s so much meme potential here, folks.

I can go on. Or should I say, I can, like the cyclists on their bikes, go off.

Fortunately, according to the broadcast, via USA Today, there are no reported injuries however the bicyclist who was hit by the sign reportedly seemed to be trampled by other bikes. At least one bike was also damaged from the crash.

The crash was apparently the second one during the race but looking at the pics, you can see why spectators are calling this a “massive crash” and absolute “royal mess.”

The fan, who was holding up a sign for her grandparents, is also now facing a potential lawsuit.

“We are suing this woman who behaved so badly,” Race deputy director Pierre-Yves Thouault told AFP.

“Hey guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel. Today we’re photobombing the cyclists at Tour de France and hopefully creating a ‘royal mess’ teehee XD” (Twitter)

“We are doing this so that the tiny minority of people who do this don’t spoil the show for everyone.”

Taking to the official Twitter account, a spokesperson for the event warned fans to “respect the safety of the riders!”

“Don’t risk everything for a photo or to get on television.”

The 1st stage of the Tour de France 2021 began last night and is set to run through till the 18th of July.
