Pics Emerge Showing Bear Grylls’ Hectic Allergic Reaction To A Bee Sting

Bear Grylls

Survivalist Bear Grylls, who is known for taking on the toughest challenges nature can throw at him, was left unrecognisable this week, after suffering a life-threatening reaction to a bee sting while filming his new series.

Per reports in the New York Post, the 45-year-old British adventurer was on a boat off the coast of a remote Pacific island, recording footage for competition show Treasure Island, when the frightening incident occurred.

The presenter, who discovered his bee allergy when he was stung during a 2008 segment, reportedly tried to continue filming after the sting, but production had to be halted when it was clear his reaction was too severe.

He suffered a “severe” anaphylactic shock, and medics were rushed to the boat with an EpiPen to treat him. This is just another good reason not to leave the house, to be honest:

Neurosurgeon Mano Shanmug-anathan, who is competing on the show, told The Star: “I think that Bear is an impressive guy. He understands his tasks at hand and knows what he has to achieve.” He added that it was “bizarre” to see the survivalist’s reaction to the sting.

Treasure Island, hosted by Bear Grylls, sees a group of strangers ‘stranded’ on a remote island for six weeks, competing for £100,000.
