All she wanted to do was show you that you could find the ideal hotel, for the best price.

But now, the woman in those upbeat Trivago ads is doing much more than helping folk look for a hotel online.
A string of concerning tweets show that she is currently terrifying commuters in the London Underground.
The poster version of the ad she features in has been, and I quote from a passenger’s tweet, “shat” all over the city’s tube.
The ads are fookin everywhere. Like, 20 ads per 10 square metres. Travellers have taken to Twitter to express their fear, with many believing she is staring “straight into their soul”:
Getting the tube at the moment is essentially a bad dream where you’re constantly being followed by the woman from the Trivago advert.

Why is this Trivago ad being shat around EVERYWHERE?! Counted 38 ads in about 100m. Feel like I’m being stalked by this woman. #advertising pic.twitter.com/c0BzIVBUhV

Oh gosh. This got me thinking of you and your post the other day, @robynhfrost 😂 pic.twitter.com/CGXjwEN7rj

I see the @trivago woman more than I see my missus at the moment pic.twitter.com/TrYmRir9il

Honestly if God is real, he’s gonna have a hard time being more omnipresent in London than the Trivago woman

Others believe her omnipresence a sure sign that the world is coming to an end:

Of course, her ubiquity did not stop there.
Just when passengers thought she was gonna give it a rest, she sprang back up on the boards, this time donning a new shirt and spruiking Las Vegas:

ALERT. There is a NEW #trivago woman on the Tube. Well, the same one wearing a new shirt. She wants to go to Vegas. WHAT DOES IT ALL MEAN?! pic.twitter.com/XA3sm2c3dI

While it might seem like a glorious waste of ad space (which doesn’t come cheap in one of the world’s largest cities), I bet you Trivago planned it. They’ve started a conversation and garnered a lot of press. Freaking the heebie geebies out of Londoners is a small price to pay for that.
But what would the woman in the advert think of all this attention?! Who is she?
The actress who plays this all-present advisor is Australian Gabrielle Miller, and this is her Instagram, if you’re into stalking actors who play parts in commercials (honestly, that’s not even weird, that’s kinda how Megan Gale became a thing).
We, for one, welcome our new smiling, plaid shirt-wearing overlord.
