Not One, But TWO Giant Slip N Slides Are Coming To Melbourne This Summer

SUMMER. The days are long. The shorts are short. And the weather is hot as shit. Now that we’re heading into summer proper (real talk: December doesn’t really count as summer) and the temperatures go from “pretty darn warm” to “even my sweat is sweating,” creative ways of combining cooling off with getting rad start cropping up.

And for the city of Melbourne, the prospect of a totally siq idea happening just the once isn’t good enough, so the Victorian capital is doubling up on the radness with not one, but TWO giant slip n slides.
Along with the previously announced Slide Melbourne taking over Lonsdale Street in the CBD on February 15th (and potentially again on March 9th), now a different mob in Nova Slidestreet will be doing the exact same thing on the same street on January 24th.
Same thing at the same place? Sure. But honestly, who cares. More sliding for everyone! MORE!
The slides themselves will be bloody huge – the length of two AFL ovals – and from all accounts will be an unfathomable amount of fun, if Slidestreet’s previous effort in Perth is anything to go by.

The sliding will be accompanied by a swathe of other festivities, with live entertainment, DJs, food trucks, a pop up bar, general water-based frivolity and various NovaFM personalities taking over the nearby Fitzroy Gardens on the day.
Not in Melbourne? Don’t despair! Nova Slidestreet is touring! They’ll be hitting up Bartels Road in Adelaide on January 18th, and Parkes Drive in Sydney‘s Centennial Park on January 26th (YOU GUYS THAT’S AUSTRALIA DAY!).
If you’re keen to slide, you should probably sort yourself out a ticket quicksmart. Adelaide tickets are on sale from the moment you read this, whilst Melbourne and Sydney go on sale at 9am on Monday, January 12th.

You know what to do, kids.
