While, as with every story coming out of SXSW, we are wracked with jealousy at the fact that we’re not there, we’re still vicariously excited for those who get to experience the rolling branding opportunity-slash-sugary treat dispenser that is the Kwik-E-Truck.
To commemorate 25 years since the first appearance of the Kwik-E-Mart in an episode of The Simpsons – an oddly specific anniversary, but sure, we’ll take it – Fox sent a food truck to Austin, to hand out free Squishees for the duration of the festival.
While the cynical, adult part of us knows that this is just a commercial for Fox, the child in us just wants a free Squishee, dammit, even if it turns out to be chutney flavoured.
The truck also features a display of the impressively-detailed new Lego Kwik-E-Mart, which goes on sale in May, and includes a teeny tiny Apu and a teeny tiny Snake.
