The Nintendo Switch could finally be getting a YouTube app more than a year and a half after its release, according to an alleged leak on the company’s own website.

A tweet made by the French website, NintendHome, shows a screenshot of what it claims to be a teaser for the portable console’s YouTube app. Apparently, the image was captured on the Nintendo of America website. Furthermore, the tweet reckons it’ll be coming as soon as November 8 (which makes it the 9th here).

Translated, it says – “Rumor – The YouTube app is expected to arrive soon on Nintendo Switch, especially on November 8th if you believe the Nintendo America website.”

No one seems to be able to verify the leak, so either it’s a load of bullshit or Nintendo have hastily fixed it on their end, but it wouldn’t be the first time the company has outed its own secrets. Earlier this year, the company accidentally revealed the title of its upcoming Yoshi game in the same way.

YouTube has appeared on previous Nintendo consoles, like the Wii, Wii U, and 3DS, but it’s been weirdly absent from the Switch since its launch in March 2017. The latest console is also missing a Netflix app, but rumours of that also coming at some point are still kicking around. It would make a lot of sense for the Switch to embrace the surge of streaming culture.

Welp, either way, you’ll only need to wait until the end of the week to see if the rumour turns out to be true.
