We Played ‘The Elder Scrolls Online’ With A Complete Noob To Prove A Point

It’s been a long bloody time since The Elder Scrolls series visited the Summerset Isles – 24 years to be precise – but now the vibrant world has been added to The Elder Scrolls Online, meaning you can experience it all again with the graphics of modern gaming.

The best part about Summerset is that even if you’re new to ESO, you’ll be able to jump straight into the game as a new player without needing to go through previous areas or grind up to a certain level. So while it might look hard to get started, it’s actually a piece of piss.

To prove the point, we got together with comedian and gaming noob, Cameron Duggan (yes, I called him Cameron James, but it wasn’t my bloody fault), to teach him how to play the game. Within half an hour, the legend was absolutely killing it, so if he can do it, you totally can too.

Check out the hilarious video below.

The best part about showing games like this to non-gamers is watching them explore the breadth of options within such a dense world. For example, stealing things which aren’t yours can be dicey territory, but it didn’t stop Cameron doing exactly that to a harmless dog.

“Imagine nicking a bag off a dog, I’m doing that,” he said. We also took the time to go for a fish because as Cameron says, “sometimes a bloke just wants to wet a line”. True and fair.

If you’re keen to give The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset a red hot go, you can grab it right now for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
