Speaking with Vulture, Game of Thrones star, Sophie Turner (who plays Sansa Stark) revealed the lengths HBO went to in order to keep the eighth and final season of the popular series a secret, which included shooting drones out of the fucking sky.

Anyone hoping to get a glimpse of the set during filming via drone would have seen it straight-up fall out of the sky as a result of some kind of “drone-killer” device, Turner called it. “The secrecy is crazy,” she said.
“I don’t know how it does it. It creates like this field around and the drones just drop.”
It’s not the only way HBO spend money keeping things under wraps, either. According to Turner, the company often used a fake name for the show and its cast when shooting so that anyone going by would be fooled into thinking it was something totally different. “We have a whole different name for it when we’re shooting it. I think this season it was like the Tree of Life or something,” she said.
Some scripts were written in code and HBO even spent money on filming bung scenes to throw people and even cast off the scent. According to a previous interview with HBO head of programming, Casey Bloys, multiple endings were shot to keep the number of people who know the true ending to a minimum. Arya Stark actor, Maisie Williams, reckons she knows how it all ends, though.
There’s no hard release date for season 8 just yet, but it’s looking to be towards the middle of 2019. While it will only contain 6 episodes, each one is rumoured to be movie-length, so there’s gonna be plenty to sink your teeth into before it all comes to an end.
Whichever way you slice it, things are looking pretty grim in Westeros, so we can only assume everyone just bloody dies.
