Get ready to have your faith in muggles restored because somebody has made an incredible digital Harry Potter escape room to cure your social-distancing boredom.
With seven books, eight movies and a handful of spinoff movies, books and games, the Harry Potter franchise is an absolute godsend during self-isolation. But like all good things, your Harry Potter binge will eventually come to an end.
Thankfully, the Peters Township Public Library in Pennsylvania has developed a truly incredible digital escape room for you to enjoy from the comfort of your couch. It follows the same premise as those IRL escape rooms you used to be able to explore before we all tried to self-isolate, but you can do it all from your own couch.
Still not convinced? Did I mention it’s 100% free?
You kick off the escape room as a naive first year student at Hogwarts, where you’ll be required to watch movie clips, solve riddles and learn spells to progress throughout the game.
It’s not an official Harry Potter game, so it’s obvious that it’s been made with a library budget and not on Universal’s dollar. But for $0, it’s a pretty entertaining way to kill some time while you’re doing your part to flatten the curve.
The digital escape room was created by Youth Services Librarian Sydney Krawiec, which makes me think it’s actually designed for bored children during school holidays. But hey, if you’ve already done enough Buzzfeed quizzes to know which type of pasta you are, you might as well kill some time escaping from Hogwarts.
The Peters Township Public Library thinks you deserve a little Harry Potter escape room, as a treat. Go on, treat yourself. Click the link.Image: Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
