Certified Madman In Syd Breaks World Record After Spending 36 Hours In VR

The certified madman we mentioned a little while ago who planned to break the Guinness World Record for the longest time spent in VR has actually pulled it off.

Sydney man Jack McNee now holds the title after spending an incredible 36 hours in virtual reality where we assume his soul now remains for eons to come.
The record was previously held by UK tech journo Georgie Barrat who spent 25 hours, 24 minutes and 18 seconds in her own virtual hell.
Hosted at Sydney venue The VR Corner on April 1, old mate played Google‘s 3D paint game, Tilt Brush, crafting a number of excellent creations including characters from The Simpsons and Adventure Time
Spending one and a half days inside a virtual world is no easy feat, particularly when you take into account simple things like eating and taking a dump. Food had to be hand-fed to Jack to make sure his attempt was not broken and one would assume he’d need a hand being led to the bathroom.
Imagine pissing in VR. What a vibe. He also interacted with an online audience via a YouTube live stream, playing Hangman and Pictionary with them to pass the time.
The event also raised money for The Reach Foundation, a youth organisation that aims to improve the wellbeing and resilience of young people.
Kudos to you, Jack. You can suss the stream for yourself over on his YouTube channel. Cop a taste in his video below.
