What We Wear: Australian Vogue Editors Edition

Seeing as the consumer-driven pageantry of Vogue Fashion’s Night Out last week was ultimately about shopping, Pedestrian took time away from contemplating whether or not to marry a pair of boyfriend jeans, gawking at celebrities and testing the limits of the term “free sample” to quiz three members of the Australian Vogue team – Editor-in-Chief Edwina McCann, Market Editor Pip Brophy and Online Editor Zara Wong – about their purchases past, present and future. Here’s what they said…

EDWINA MCCANN
: EDITOR IN CHIEF (r).
What was the most expensive thing you’ve bought? My husband will kill me. Are you kidding me? This is a trick question. It’s late at night (laughs). Entrapment. Aside from jewellery? Probably a Louis Vuitton dress.
What’s your guilty pleasure item? I try to edit out the dirty sweats from my wardrobe so I mainly wear knits now. Probably my pajamas but they’re not that bad.
What thing do you wear the most? Right now, these Valentino shoes that are really falling apart. They’re not going to live much longer.
What are you most likely to steal from your partner? Absolutely nothing!
What’s the most sentimental thing you own? My engagement ring.
What do you want to buy next? Some Burberry shoes I saw tonight which would be perfect for the shows.
What is your favourite bricks and mortar store? That’s hard. I guess for the all-in experience it would still have to be Bergdorf Goodman. Everything’s there. I’ve got this romantic view of it still.
What is your favourite online store? It depends on what I’m looking for but I guess overall it would be Net-A-Porter.

PIP BROPHY: MARKET EDITOR

ZARA WONG: FASHION FEATURES WRITER / ONLINE EDITOR

What do you want to buy next? Sydney real estate. Ha.
What thing do you wear the most? Anything that I think Alexa Chung might consider. Joking. Not really.
