Watch Sampras, Williams, Nadal, Federer Rally On Pop-Up Court In NYC Street

If what has to be up there with the ultimate sports #throwback, some of the greatest names in the history of tennis have converged on a random street in NYC to restage a famous Nike commercial.

Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, John McEnroe, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Nick Kyrgios and a bunch of others joined retired legends Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras for a guerilla-style pop-up match in the middle of the Meatpacking District to honour the ad’s 20th anniversary, and to mark the 2015 U.S. Open, which kicks off next week.
In the original, Agassi and Sampras pull up to a packed NYC intersection in a cab, run onto the street, unfurl a net and launch into a game of tennis.
For last night’s event #StealTheShow, Sampras and Agassi restaged the ad, complete with taxi dash, in front of tennis fiend Anna Wintour and dozens of randoms were lucky enough to be passing by at the time.
Then it was racquets-in for an all-star rally.
Aussie headline Kyrgios was chuffed to be involved, posting an aerial shot of the court set-up.

Sampras wasn’t having any of his shit, though.
Spirits were high for the most part, though, with Sharapova ceasing The Grunt long enough to take photos of her tennis m8s.
Courtside has legit never looked more impressive.
‘Grats, Nike, on pulling off one of the coolest PR stunts we’ve seen in a while.
