The whole performance art, social commentary thing is so fickle. So often the “meaning” gets lost and nobody “gets” it. Must kind of suck being one of the aforementioned artists. One of the more famous performance art artists Vanessa Beecroft however, did* things backwards. She use to just start off with an idea, an image, in her mind. She then; created it, examined it, extracted some sort of relevant meaning from it and voila! Art!
