Here’s Thandie Newton In A Dress Printed With Her Own Star Wars Toy Collection On It

Folks, not only does Thandie Newton possess a gaze that (if so targeted) could puncture a hole in the Hoover Dam, it turns out she also has a banging Star Wars action figure collection. Combining two things pretty far apart on the low/high culture spectrum, the actress has shown that collection off by having photos of it printed on the Vivienne Westwood dress that she wore to the Solo: A Star Wars Story screening at Cannes.

According to the Red Carpet Fashion Awards, the dress is a custom gown (I mean, I can’t imagine how it wouldn’t be) comprised of Vivienne Westwood’s classic Absence of Rose print with an overlay of Newton’s “personal Star Wars figurine collection” as photographed by Christian Hogstedt.

Given that the figures visible are Finn, Saw Gerrera, Mace Windu, Lando Calrissian, and (in a very, very specific pick) Captain Panaka, I reckon you might be able to draw your own conclusion about the theme that she’s going for there.

Solo will hit cinemas in Australia later this month.
