Preview: Lana Del Rey Covers Vogue Australia

When Lana Del Rey was in town for Splendour In The Grass as well as a handful of headline gigs, she fit in an exclusive cover shoot for the October issue of Vogue Australia. The new issues is themed around the ongoing relationship between music and fashion, and who better to front up the issue than a lady whose received as much recognition for her personal style as for her giant lips throaty vocals.

Styled by Christine Centenera and shot by Nicole Bentley, the two preview photographs from the shoot (below) are gorgeous, with beautiful art direction that has the same dreamy vintage quality of Del Rey’s gauze-filtered music videos.

In the accompanying interview Del Rey discusses her next career project: screenwriting.

“I said everything I needed to say before I wrote this record. I don’t even talk that much. God, talking in interviews is the most I’ve talked in years. When I was starting, I had a vision of being a writer for film and that’s what I am doing now. I’m so happy. Hopefully I will branch into film work and stay there. That will be my happy place. I’d like to stay in one place for a long time.

So stay tuned for that chapter, I guess. The October issue of Vogue Australia goes on sale Wednesday 5th September.
