Miru Kim’s Nude Self Portraits

It takes a modicum of courage to publish photographic self-portraits, however when said photographs are taken in the nude and in abandoned industrial ruins beneath street level the main concern shifts from “which is the more flattering side of my body?” to “I hope I don’t get stabbed”.

With that in mind meet Miru Kim a provocatively rare artist who possesses creativity and courage in equal measure. Her Modus Operandi is to find abandoned and derelict urban environments, set up her camera, take off her clothes and take eerie self-portraits in places even Superman jacked on amphetamines would think twice about stepping foot in.
