Millie Bobby Brown’s Dad Demands Agents Pay A Smooth $100K To Sign Her

Aaaaand just like that, we’ve just fully comprehended that Eleven from ‘Stranger Things‘, AKA Millie Bobby Brown, is actually a child star.
It’s hard to remember when she’s playing such an adult character, plus she’s been doing the red carpet rounds looking like a grown-ass woman, AND she rapped Nicki Minaj’s ‘Monster‘ on Jimmy Fallon
But yeah, she’s a child star. And her dad is lookin’ to get paaaaaaaaaaaid.
A Hollywood Reporter exclusive has spilled the deets of Millie’s father, Robert Brown, making extravagant demands to acting agencies, such as a large upfront fee.
Agencies and actors normally agree to contract terms that state that 10% of the pay from each job will go to the agency. In terms of negotiation, the agency will sometimes lower that percentage. But there’s neeeeeeever any up front payment to the actor before they’ve earned any money through the agency – it’s not heard of.
But sources at five separate agencies say Brown has been asking for a $100,000 payment just to put Millie on their books.
As per THR
“It is completely unorthodox,” says one agency source.
Agents have been known to reduce the traditional 10 percent commission charged clients in order to sign in-demand talent, but a payment up front “would open a Pandora’s box,” says another veteran of a major agency, “and we just would never go there.”
While this seems an outlandish request even to the most seasoned agents, an interview Millie gave to the Daily Mail last month is telling of the reason behind the demands.
In the interview, it’s explained that Brown’s family gave up everything to move to Florida to boost her acting career, and her UK manager Melanie Greene lent them money. But when the money ran out, they had to move back to the UK and live with her aunt.
“It was very hard. There were lots of tears along the way,” said Millie.

“My older sister left. She didn’t want to do it [America] any more. It was tears, tears, tears. We went through tough times.
A spokesperson for Brown has confirmed that Robert did make the requests, but it was due to “ill advice from someone outside the industry that was said in jest.”
However, it’s reported that he’s close friends with several sporting agents in the UK, an industry in which it’s common for upfront payments to happen.
But, it seems as though the response to Brown’s requests have been denied – Millie is expected to choose an agency next week, and sources have confirmed that there ain’t gonna be no upfront payments.
