Scanning through the Miley Cyrus cover shoot for V Magazine issue #83 one minute I was nodding my head like ‘yeah’ and the next I was holding my face like (wait for it):
V recruited Peruvian photographer Mario Testino to helm the shoot – a man whose flare for capturing easy sexuality in his subjects was also on show in the magazine’s Dynamic Duos’ special edition starring Kate Moss and Rihanna in various states of undress. The brief for the Miley shoot must have been in a similar vein, and with the cover story titled “THE EMANCIPATION OF MILEY” you kind of know what you’re going to get. Think side boob. Think butt cleavage. Think about the fact this is Hannah Montana.
The shoot comes with an accompanying interview conducted by Marc Jacobs with Miley’s new record producer Pharrell Williams. Pharrell describes her as “my little sis”.
He tells Jacobs: “You stick with your own. You’re there for your type. And that’s my type. I feel a responsibility to our relationship and everything that we’ve become. You’re just never going to meet a nicer person that’s this fucking on [top of] it.”
