Meryl Streep Met Anna Wintour & It Was Like ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Inception

When you think of the most talented, powerful women in the world, Meryl Streep and Anna Wintour have to at least be up there. One is a multi-Oscar winning actress who can seemingly nail any role, ever. The other is arguably the most famous magazine editor of all time, and responsible for the ongoing success of Vogue.

Oh, and let’s not forget that Meryl once played a thinly-veiled version of Anna in The Devil Wears Prada

The two sit down in Anna’s office to have a lil’ chat – mainly centring on Meryl’s upcoming film, The Postwhich focuses on The Watergate crisis and the role played by Katharine Graham, the publisher of The Washington Post at the time of Watergate, and late friend of Anna’s.

But they also delve into everything from Harvey Weinstein to what Meryl chats to her daughters about. Oh, and there’s this absolutely glorious exchange:

Anna: Obviously you’ve played a lot of extraordinary women. What was the most challenging woman you ever played?

Meryl: Hm. Oh! I should say…

Anna: No, no we’re not going there, Meryl. [laughing]

Aaaaaaah guys THEY’RE TALKING ABOUT MIRANDA PRIESTLY AND HOW SHE WAS BASICALLY ANNA AND I CAN’T!

Sigh. To be at a dinner table with these two, honestly.
